Our Professional Team

Pediatric Oasis is a multi-disciplinary occupational, speech, physical and behavioral therapy ​provider serving children, young adults, and families in central VA. Our team is comprised of a ​collection of highly motivated, self-driven individuals who feed off of each other’s love for their ​profession and compassion for helping neurodiverse and neurotypical individuals succeed. Meet The Co-Founders and Owners

Pediatric Oasis is a therapist-owned practice built on love, acceptance, faith, ​fortitude, and vision. As co-owners and sisters with experience in healthcare and ​trauma recovery, we are passionate and dedicated to helping children and families ​thrive in all environments. We believe that with the assistance of a nurturing and ​dedicated therapy staff, every child can reach for the stars.

Sherain Bruce, MOT, OTR/L, CAS, PFT

Sherain completed her undergraduate degree in Human Performance and Health, Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, and Minor in Communication Studies at West Virginia University. She is a Early Intervention Provider, Pediatric Feeding Therapist, Autism Specialist, and licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions. For fun she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and singing in her church’s choir.

SHENIA THOMPSON, MBA, Mha

Shenia completed her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University, Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University, and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management from Johns Hopkins University. She is a senior healthcare leader with expertise in organizational development, healthcare policy, training and compliance. In her spare time she enjoys being a mom, reading, and running.

To provide holistic care, educate the ​community, increase access to equitable ​healthcare services, improve educational ​outcomes, and enhance the lives of children ​and families across the world.

PEDS OASIS STAFF

Our staff hold educational and professional credentials, as well as knowledge and experience working in a variety of different settings such as homes, private and public schools, daycares, group homes, hospitals, and outpatient facilities. Each of our Occupational Therapists are registered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Our speech therapists hold Certificates of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Physical Therapists are licensed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). All staff are CPR/First Aid certified, licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions, and required to participate in POPT (Pediatric Oasis Professional Training).
